The Ford Model T, this is the machine that liberated mankind from rural isolation and offered the masses their first taste of urban culture. Connecting party-goers from around the country, increasing the range of vocational travel. It almost single-handedly revolutionized the automobile's role from a plaything for the wealthy to a cherished member of the average household. During its 1908 to 1927 production run, more than 15 million Model Ts were built and sold around the world. No single innovation before or since has done more to burnish America's reputation for ingenuity.
The Ford Model A was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T. First produced on October 20, 1927, but not sold until December 2, it replaced the venerable Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. This new Model A (a previous model had used the name in 1903–1904) was designated as a 1928 model and was available in four standard colors.
